Appalachian Spring Adventure

We had a long weekend to take a long trip. We found mountain air cool and clean and alive. We hiked on trails colored with blooming everything and little things alive in streams. The water still held a winter chill but we splashed and explored until trembling legs and arms and lips forced them into warm towels and more hikes.

We camped through our first storm. Rain soaked the tent but we stayed mostly dry and made it through the night.

The new spring greens filled in the winter gaps between trees and bush and showed blue skies above. Summer will settle and hold in warm wet air and hide the sky. We were right on time for an Appalachian spring adventure.
